The short version

Choose AcreTrail if

  • You run a weekly delivery route or herd share, not a storefront
  • You want simple monthly pricing with no setup fees or annual contracts
  • You want your customers to use a custom-branded app, not a generic farm marketplace
  • You're a small or mid-size farm under 500 customers
  • You manage made-to-order or custom cuts alongside regular orders

Choose Barn2Door if

  • You sell across multiple channels (online storefront, farmers market POS, wholesale price sheets)
  • You need advanced CSA features like pro-rata mid-season billing
  • You rely on integrations like Routific (delivery routing), Mailchimp, or QuickBooks
  • You want a custom-built website with built-in e-commerce, not just a customer-ordering app

Switching from Barn2Door to AcreTrail

Most farms can move over in a weekend. We import your customer list and product catalog from a CSV export, you set your delivery schedule and pickup locations, and your customers get an invite to the new app. We're a small team and we'll personally walk you through it.

Common reasons farms move:

Adam Nelson, AcreTrail founder, in southwest Washington

Why this exists

I'm a software developer in southwest Washington. I'm also a customer of a dairy farm here that runs local deliveries. They were drowning in text-message orders, so I built AcreTrail.

Now I run it for them, and for any other small farm that wants a flat-fee tool that doesn't punish growth. If you sign up, you'll talk to me, not a support queue.

Common questions

How long does setup take? +

About 24 hours from CSV import to your first order. We provision your farm's instance, import your customers and products from a Barn2Door CSV export, and set up your delivery schedule with you.

What happens to my customers' logins during the switch? +

Your customers get an invite from your farm's branded app and create a new account with their existing email address. Passwords don't carry over from Barn2Door (that wouldn't be secure). Their order history transfers separately as part of the CSV import.

Will my customers have to relearn anything? +

Not really. They see your farm's name and colors, not "AcreTrail." Ordering is a list of products with quantities and a delivery date, the same mental model as a Barn2Door storefront.

What if I cancel after the free trial? +

No contract, no cancellation fee. You can export your full customer list and order history as CSV anytime, including after you cancel.

Is this really maintained by one person? +

Yes, and that's the point. You get direct support from the person who builds the product, not a ticket queue. The tradeoff: no enterprise integrations team, no 24/7 phone support. If your farm needs those, Barn2Door is the better fit.
